Elf on a shelf………Eek excited much?????
I seen this everywhere last year and could not wait till Evelyn was old enough that we could join in on this brilliant family tradition.
So our little Elf will come to visit us from the North Pole on the 1st December and will get up to all sorts of things while we are sleeping, each morning we have to find where she is. Every night she fly’s back to Santa to report on all the things our family has been up to that day and if we have been naughty or nice.
Each day in December we are going to share all the mischief our Elf gets upto, so make sure to check out our YouTube channel to keep up to date.
Please find the link to the full December Elf on the Shelf playlist. 24 days of fun 🙂
I don’t get the opportunity to have my beautiful girls to myself on to many occasions, so when mummy has to go out to work. I try to embrace the time i have with them.
Evelyn is so much fun and adventurous that it makes for such a interesting and learning experience, not just for her but myself too.
Orla is obviously still a baby and doesn’t do to much but when she smiles it certainly brightens up every dull moment.
Hope you enjoy this video. Daddy xx
Living in West London we are so lucky to have such fantastic landmarks on our doorstep not to mention the abundance of free museums.
We decided to plan a family outing to the Science museum in South Kensington and with Kensington Gardens just around the corner we added in a trip to the Diana memorial playground.
This playground is great for children of all ages with a giant ship surrounded by sand as the centerpiece, children are free to run wild with the safety of knowing that adults have to be accompanied by a child to enter. Once we had prized Evelyn away we took a stroll down to the lake to marvel at the swans swimming around happily, then on to the science museum.
If you haven’t taken your toddler to the science museum then I suggest you do, they have an interactive area called The Garden located in the basement especially designed for children, with water play, giant stacking blocks and much much more. Evelyn had the best time and even enjoyed looking at the spaceships and car exhibits that maybe designed for older children.
We all had such a great day and it was all totally free, you cant ask for better than that.
Baking is a passion of mine and I never thought I would be using a packet mix but when you have children these box mixes are a lifesaver on a rainy day.
Evelyn loves to bake and get messy, it’s really hard as a parent to let go and just let them enjoy the experience. Every inch of me is trying to control the mess but you do have to remember that although the cakes may not win the Great British bake off, to Evelyn they are a masterpiece
Hope you enjoy this video

We are always on the hunt for inspiration for new books, so thought we would share some of her favourites right now.

So before I had children these were the days I dreamed about, going to pick a pumpkin for Halloween. As an adult Halloween kind of passes you by, but when you have a child you get to live it all through their eyes.
I had seen all sorts of lovely pictures come up on Instagram of people picking fruit and pumpkins and thought I had to find out where our local picking farm is, so after a quick Google search I found Garsons Farm in Esher, with its vast amounts of fruit and vegetables it is the perfect place for a day out.
So off we set to go and pick a pumpkin! We were so impressed with the farm that we ended up picking apples and raspberries too, but we could have picked so much more. Evelyn had so much fun and really got into it.
We will defiantly be heading back soon, and think it may become our new favourite place.
Our Saturday Adventure!
Sometimes it can be hard to find activities to do with children without spending money, especially now winter is setting in. We try our hardest to have at least one family adventure at the weekend without breaking the bank, so this week we decided to head to Hampton Court with its beautiful open spaces, river walks and of course giant sand pit.
We packed our picnic, buckets and spades and headed to Bushy Park, the second largest of the 8 Royal parks we have in London. This park never disappoints with its vast woodland, ponds and adventure playground. Kids can be free to roam around and soak up all the nature this beautiful park has to offer, keep your eyes peeled and you may even see some deer. We were lucky enough to see both male and female deer whilst there and Evelyn was truly amazed to be so close to such wonderful animals.
We played in the adventure playground and spent ages digging in the sand pit, then decided to take a stroll across the road to Hampton Court palace and took a wonder along the river, before heading back to the car and hitting the road home. Oh and not a penny spent!
So life can be pretty hectic sometimes and no more so than with a newborn and a toddler. Some days I feel like super woman like I have got this thing nailed and other days I could curl up into a ball and cry.
When your newborn is crying because they need sleep and want a cuddle for comfort, you are trying to get your toddler out the door to go to the play group they enjoy so much, but they wont sit still long enough to put there tights and shoes on. Sometimes I admit my patience runs thin and I find myself shouting “WILL YOU JUST COME HERE SO I CAN PUT YOUR SHOES ON PLEASE” Then feel really guilty as I know its not her fault and she’s just being a typical toddler, but the stress can just get to you sometimes.
So the video is a typical day in the life, nothing fancy, just a normal day doing the things us mummy’s do, Cleaning, washing oh and keeping two children alive.
Hope you enjoy and let me know how your days plan out
Just a trip to the park….. except it’s not just a trip to the park, to a child it’s a world of adventure and excitement, exploring new places and being free to run and jump.
This was a normal Saturday, we decided to go out and get some fresh air in our lungs (well as fresh as it gets in London anyway) the bunny park is a park in West London that has animals, play park and an exciting maze and that’s exactly how Evelyn found it exciting!!! She loved running round the maze with daddy hot on her tail and marvelled at the sight of new animals. It truly is amazing to see the world through your children’s eyes, the pure excitement they see in the ordinary things we take for granted.
The sun was shining and Orla was still fast asleep so we stopped for a coffee and a snack in the little coffee shop.
We decided not to push our luck and knew Orla would be waking soon for a feed so decided to head home, needless to say we didn’t quite make it back to the car when she woke, so breastfeeding in the passenger seat it was. Then off home we went with two sleeping babies (results)
